This Week at CTN: Final Week of 1st Session

  • ctn coverWriting this is bittersweet as we celebrate our incredible first session at the same time that we prepare to say goodbye to our first session friends.  It is hard to believe that it was 3 ½ weeks ago that we stood in the rain greeting all of you as you dropped your campers off, many of you, for the first time. Time has flown, memories have been made and friendships have been forged.  In addition to growing closer to their friends, they have become more independent, learned about community living and made unforgettable camp memories.

IMG_2871We could not have asked for a better weather week for programming. This week was filled with our normal schedule, which included windsurfing on Sunset Lake, archery on the Dell hill and playing soccer on the lower fields. We love seeing campers enjoy their regular days and favorite activities but the best part of camp is providing those special experiences for them and this week was jam-packed with those! We LOVED treating our campers’ ice cream and waffles for breakfast and the looks on our campers’ faces were priceless. Yesterday we had an awesome schedule that included the giant slip n’ slide, waterfront activities but most of all, YOM FOAM!

Our last week of activities included trips for Olim/Olot and Tsofim/Tsofot who went to Water Country for the day!  Bogrim/Bogrot enjoyed some time with camp to themselves before heading out bowling that evening. All of the age groups loved the chance to spend time together outside of camp and loved their trips!

The CTN Talent Show put our best talent on center stage and we loved seeing our campers shine.  We moved from one stage to the next as we watched the Olim/Olot and Tsofim/Tsofot play, Mulan.  The campers amazed us during the talent show and continued to impress everyone with their various musical and dance numbers highlighting the work done in their Drama elective.

As we prepare for our First Session banquet, we are a little sad thinking that tonight is the final evening for our first session campers. We will miss seeing their smiling faces around camp, but know that I will once again be sharing Shabbat with them in just 11 months.

    Shabbat Shalom,
    Camp Tel Noar
