Camp Tel Noar, which is dedicated to presenting a well-rounded camping experience that includes creativity and creating projects to take home and cherish, is well-known for its visual and Performing Arts. The camp’s values find expression in the following programs:
Arts & Crafts is an integral part of the daily program, allowing for self-expression in various ways. The studio includes facilities for creative accessories, fabric art, jewelry-making, macramé, models, mosaic art, nature crafts, painting & sketching, rocketry, and scrap booking. Campers develop skill in working with clay, both freehand and on the potters’ wheels in our ceramics studio. The arts and crafts staff has a contagious spirit!
Photography is an extremely popular program at Camp Tel Noar. Campers are taught the art of picture-taking and darkroom skills utilizing an exceptional, professional, darkroom outfitted with the latest equipment. An Advanced Photography class focuses on composition and critique.
Dance is one of our most popular choices each summer where campers learn jazz, hip-hop, other modern dance steps and create their own dance routines on our outdoor dance platform.
Sunset Playhouse, our stellar dramatics program, enables a camper the joy of self-recognition while he/she learns poise and performance skills. Performances include musicals and original productions often accompanied by song, scenery, lighting and costume. Campers also have the opportunity to design and create sets, props and costumes for productions.
Music is a major part of the Camp Tel Noar experience for all campers—whether they are singing the daily prayers, practicing for a musical, sitting around a campfire or singing the beloved camp Alma Mater. Campers can practice their music skills with an instructor when they sign up for the Jam Band music elective.
